Fix closed eyes in a group photo
Blinked in the group photo where everyone else looks great? Open your own eyes in that photo. Everyone else, and everything around you, stays exactly as it was.
Before
AfterGroup photos are where blinks happen most. Ten people, one shutter, and somebody always blinks. When that somebody is you, the photo everyone else wants to post is the one you'd rather not see.
Fix your own eyes in a group photo
- Open the web editor in any browser and choose the group photo.
- When the photo has more than one person, Glowly asks Which one is you? Tap your face and confirm.
- Tap Eyes and turn the dial from As is toward Open. Stop where it still looks like you.
- Press and hold to compare with the original, then save.
Only your face is retouched. Everyone else in the photo, the background and the light stay pixel for pixel the same. Glowly is for photos of yourself, so it retouches one face per edit: the one you choose as yours.
If someone else blinked
Send them the photo. They can open their own eyes in it the same way, in a minute, from their phone. If you want a fix without anyone editing anything, try these first:
- Live Photo. On iPhone, tap Edit, then the Live Photo button, and pick a frame where everyone's eyes are open. Our guide to choosing a different Live Photo frame shows the steps.
- The burst. Whoever took the photo probably took two or three. One of them may already have everyone's eyes open.
- Merge two frames. Photo editors with layers can paste one face from a second frame into the first. It works when nobody moved between the shots.
Next time
Take a short burst, and ask everyone to close their eyes and open them on "three". Our guide on how to stop blinking in photos has more ways to get it right at the shutter.
Can I open someone else's eyes in a group photo?
Glowly retouches only your own face. If a friend blinked, send them the photo so they can fix it themselves, or check the Live Photo and the burst for a frame where their eyes are open.
Will the other people in the photo change?
No. Only the face you choose is retouched. Everyone else, the background and the light stay exactly as they were.
Does it work on iPhone?
Group photos work in the web editor at app.glow.ly, in Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox on a phone or a computer.
Is it free?
Trying it is free. Saving the full-size photo uses 1 credit or Glowly Plus. Credits are $4.99 for 10; Plus is $29.99 a year with a 3-day free trial.
